These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and your purchase of products and services from Dothan Window Films (“Dothan Window Films,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing this website, requesting an estimate, or authorizing work, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this site or our services.

1. About Us
Dothan Window Films is a window film sales and installation company based in Dothan, Alabama, serving customers throughout southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. We provide residential, commercial, and automotive window film products and installation, including solar control, security, decorative, and privacy films.

2. Use of This Website
You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

Use the site in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local law

3. Estimates and Quotes
Prices displayed on this website, in advertisements, or in general marketing materials are estimates for informational purposes only and do not constitute a binding offer.

Written estimates are valid for [30] days from the date issued unless stated otherwise.
Estimates are based on the information, measurements, and conditions described at the time of quoting. If actual conditions differ — additional glass, difficult access, existing film requiring removal, non-standard glass types, damaged glazing, or added scope — we will provide a revised price before proceeding.
Estimates provided remotely (by phone, email, text, or from customer-supplied photos or measurements) are subject to confirmation upon on-site inspection.

4. Scheduling, Access, and Site Conditions
Installation dates are scheduled by mutual agreement and are approximate. Weather, temperature, humidity, product availability, and prior job overruns can affect timing. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of delays.
You agree to:

Provide safe, clear, and lawful access to all work areas at the scheduled time
Clear window sills, blinds, drapes, furniture, merchandise, and personal property from the work area unless we have agreed in writing to do so
Ensure a responsible adult is present or that access arrangements are confirmed in advance
Disclose known glass defects, prior repairs, seal failures, aftermarket coatings, or existing film
Provide access to water and electrical power where needed

If our crew arrives and cannot begin work due to lack of access, unsafe conditions, or an unprepared site, a trip charge of [AMOUNT / “our standard trip charge”] may apply and the job will be rescheduled.

5. Payment Terms

A deposit of [__]% may be required to schedule work and order materials. Deposits for custom-ordered, cut-to-size, or special-order film are non-refundable once material is ordered.
Unless other terms are agreed in writing, the balance is due upon completion of the work.
Accepted payment methods: [LIST — e.g., cash, check, major credit cards, ACH].
Approved commercial accounts may be invoiced on [NET __] terms.

6. Cancellation and Rescheduling

You may reschedule at no charge with at least [48] hours’ notice.
Cancellations made less than [48] hours before a scheduled installation may forfeit the deposit or incur a cancellation fee of [AMOUNT].
Custom-cut, special-order, and non-stock materials are not returnable and are billed in full once ordered.
Where a residential transaction is subject to a statutory right of cancellation under applicable federal or Alabama law, those rights control and nothing here limits them.

7. Glass Breakage, Thermal Stress, and Seal Failure
Please read this section carefully. Applying window film changes how glass absorbs and dissipates heat. Under certain conditions, film can increase the risk of thermal stress fracture, and film applied to insulated (dual-pane) units can affect the sealed airspace.
You acknowledge and agree that:

We are not responsible for glass breakage, thermal stress cracks, seal failure, or lost insulating gas resulting from film application, except where caused by our negligent workmanship.
Pre-existing conditions — stress cracks, chips, scratches, prior repairs, compromised seals, deteriorated glazing, or improperly installed glass — substantially increase risk. We will note visible conditions before work when practical, but not all defects are detectable.
Applying film may void or alter the manufacturer’s warranty on your glass or insulated glass units. It is your responsibility to confirm the terms of any existing glass warranty before authorizing installation. We can discuss film selections intended to reduce risk, but we do not guarantee any glass manufacturer’s warranty will remain in force.
Film removal, whether by us or others, may damage glass, dot-matrix bands, defroster lines, antenna elements, gaskets, or seals. We are not liable for such damage during the removal of film we did not install.

8. Appearance, Cure Period, and Care

Window film is applied using a water-based mounting solution. During the cure period — typically [30] to [45] days, longer in cool or humid weather — small water pockets, haze, or slight cloudiness are normal and will dissipate. These are not defects.
Do not roll down automotive windows for at least [3–5] days after installation, and do not clean, scrub, or apply anything to filmed surfaces during the cure period.
After curing, clean film with a soft cloth or squeegee and a mild, ammonia-free cleaner. Abrasive pads, scrapers, razor blades, and ammonia-based products will damage film and void warranty coverage.
Minor dust particles, small debris, or slight edge gaps are inherent to hand-applied film installation and are judged against the film manufacturer’s published industry standards, not a standard of perfection.
Film color, shade, and appearance may vary slightly between production lots, between film types, and from samples, printed materials, or on-screen images. Screen and print reproduction of film shades is approximate.
Matching new film to previously installed film — including different lots of the same product — cannot be guaranteed.

9. Warranty
Window film products are covered by the film manufacturer’s written warranty, which varies by product line and application and is provided or made available to you at the time of purchase. Manufacturer warranties typically cover defects such as peeling, bubbling, cracking, delamination, and excessive color change, subject to their own terms, exclusions, and registration requirements.
Dothan Window Films separately warrants its installation workmanship for [PERIOD] from the date of completion. Our workmanship warranty covers defects in application and is limited, at our option, to re-installation of the affected film or refund of the amount paid for that portion of the work.
Warranty coverage does not extend to:

Damage from abuse, accident, vandalism, impact, fire, flood, storm, or other casualty
Improper cleaning, abrasive contact, or use of prohibited cleaning products
Glass breakage, thermal stress, or seal failure, as described in Section 7
Film that has been altered, repaired, or removed by anyone other than Dothan Window Films
Conditions normal to hand installation as described in Section 8
Any product for which payment has not been received in full

Warranty service requires notice to us and reasonable access to inspect the film. Full terms are set out in our written warranty document, which controls in the event of any conflict with this summary.
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN THIS SECTION AND IN OUR WRITTEN WARRANTY, WE DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10. Performance Claims
Published figures for heat rejection, visible light transmission (VLT), glare reduction, UV rejection, solar heat gain coefficient, and energy savings are supplied by film manufacturers and measured under standardized laboratory conditions. Actual performance in your building or vehicle depends on glass type, orientation, shading, HVAC system, occupancy, climate, and other factors outside our control. Such figures are estimates, not guarantees of results, energy savings, or comfort outcomes.
Security and safety films are designed to help hold glass fragments together and increase resistance to penetration. No film makes glass unbreakable, bulletproof, or hurricane-proof. Unless a specific rated system — including approved attachment — is expressly quoted and installed, film should not be relied upon for impact-rating, forced-entry, or code compliance purposes.

11. Automotive Tint and Legal Compliance
State laws regulate the permitted darkness (VLT), reflectivity, and placement of automotive window film, and these limits differ between Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Requirements also vary by window position and vehicle class.

We will advise you of the applicable limits for your state and vehicle to the best of our knowledge.
You are solely responsible for choosing a film shade that complies with the law where the vehicle is registered and operated, and for any medical exemption documentation you may rely on.
If you request film darker than the legal limit or outside legal placement, you do so at your own risk. We may decline the request. If we proceed, you assume full responsibility for any citation, fine, inspection failure, or required removal, and you agree to indemnify us for the same.
For residential and commercial work, you are responsible for obtaining any required HOA, landlord, condominium association, historic district, or property management approval before installation. We are not liable for costs arising from removal required by such an entity.

12. Photography and Reviews
We may photograph completed work for portfolio, marketing, website, and social media use. Unless you notify us in writing before installation, you consent to such use of images of the installed film and the property or vehicle exterior. We will not include identifying information such as street addresses or license plates without your permission.
Reviews and testimonials posted on this site reflect the individual experience of the customer and are not a guarantee of comparable results.

13. Communications Consent
By providing your phone number or email address, you consent to receive calls, text messages, and emails from us regarding estimates, scheduling, service, and account matters. Message and data rates may apply. Marketing messages, where sent, may be stopped by replying STOP or by using the unsubscribe link in an email. Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of purchase.

14. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — text, graphics, logos, photographs, video, and page design — is owned by Dothan Window Films or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from site content without our prior written consent. Manufacturer names, product names, and third-party marks are the property of their respective owners.

15. Third-Party Links
This site may link to third-party websites, including film manufacturers, financing providers, and review platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, products, or privacy practices of those sites.

16. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOTHAN WINDOW FILMS AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF USE, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR DIMINUTION IN PROPERTY VALUE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS WEBSITE, OUR PRODUCTS, OR OUR SERVICES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID TO US FOR THE SPECIFIC WORK GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Dothan Window Films and its owners, employees, and contractors from claims, damages, penalties, fines, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from: your breach of these Terms; your failure to obtain required approvals; your instruction to install film outside legal limits; your misrepresentation of glass condition or property ownership; or your use of this website.

18. Authority to Authorize Work
By authorizing work, you represent that you are the owner of the property or vehicle, or that you are authorized by the owner to approve the installation, alteration, or removal of window film.

19. Dispute Resolution
We prefer to resolve concerns directly. Please contact us first so we have an opportunity to make things right.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within [30] days, the parties agree to attempt mediation in Houston County, Alabama, before initiating litigation. Any action arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Houston County or the Middle District of Alabama, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Where work is performed in Georgia or Florida, mandatory consumer-protection or contractor-licensing provisions of that state may also apply, and those provisions control to the extent they conflict.

21. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, natural disaster, fire, labor shortage, supply chain disruption, manufacturer backorder, utility failure, government action, or public health emergency.

22. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms, together with your signed estimate or work order and our written warranty, constitute the entire agreement between us and supersede prior discussions. In the event of conflict, the signed work order controls, then the written warranty, then these Terms.

23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted to this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. The version in effect on the date you authorize work governs that work. Please review these Terms periodically.

24. Privacy
Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
